Ingredients for Air Fryer Figs with Honey

Just a few ingredients

  • Fresh Figs that are ripe but still firm enough to hold their shape.
  • Honey for sweetness and caramelization
  • Balsamic Vinegar- I used a fig balsamic vinegar
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil to help crisp the figs a little in the air fryer
  • Pinch of Salt to help bring out the sweetness
  • Touch of black pepper-optional

Ginger with Roots Tip!

Don’t save your prettiest figs for this recipe. Slightly overripe figs that are becoming too soft to store are wonderful in the air fryer.

How to Make Figs in the Air Fryer

You will find this air fryer figs recipe is extremely versatile and simple to follow. I own two different air fryers and my favorite one is the Cosori TurboBlaze. The basket size is large (6 qt) and rectangular which I like because I can fit more in it at a time. You will see I used my old air fryer in the photos because the basket is round. I use that one for recipes like this that don’t need much sapce.

Step 1: Prepare the figs

Wash gently, remove the stems and slice the figs in half lengthwise.

Step 2: Add the honey and olive oil

Arrange cut-side up on a dish and drizzle with honey. Add the olive oil and use your hands to coat the figs gently.

Step 3: Air fry

Air fry at 375°F for about 5 minutes. Check and rearrange the figs if needed to keep them face up and cooking evenly. Air fry for 2-5 minutes more. The total amount of air fryer time will depend on the size and amount of your figs. Check them periodically to determine if they are ready.

The figs are ready when they’re soft and juicy, the edges have begun to caramelize, and the honey is bubbly around the cut surface.

Use tongs or a spoon to lift them out gently and serve on a plate.

How to Store Leftover Air Fried Figs

I prefer to eat these warm and fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. Reheat briefly in the air fryer or microwave or try serving them cold.
