Servings: 2
- 1 bunch fresh kale
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp ponzu sauce
- 3 cloves garlic sliced
Wash and dry kale completely. Use a salad spinner and/or paper towels.
Strip the kale leaves away from the tough fibrous stems (discard) and put in a large mixing bowl.
Drizzle with 1 tbsp sesame oil and ponzu sauce. Massage the leaves for 1-2 minutes to help soften the fibrous texture and reduce bitterness.
Heat remaining sesame oil and olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add sliced garlic and kale leaves to skillet and sauté for 3-5 minutes. Test a small bite to see if it is tender enough. Do not cook longer than 7-8 minutes because it can actually make the kale tougher.
Remove and serve immediately!
