French Onion Soup
Perfect fall or winter flavored with onions and fresh thyme

Ingredients

white wine

10.5 oz can beef consommé

chicken broth

slices
sourdough bread cubed

Swiss or gruyere cheese
Instructions
Melt butter over medium heat in dutch oven.
Add sliced onions and salt. Cook until caramelized about 25-35 minutes stirring often.
Add wine and scrape up browned ‘fond' from onions. Add herbs and broths. Bring to a boil.
Simmer for 20 minutes. Remove herbs.
Ladle soup into ovenproof bowls. Place bread cubes on top. Add cheese on top of bread.
Heat under broiler until cheese is lightly browned and bubbly. Carefully remove and enjoy!
